‘You Are What You Eat’ Host Criticized

Gillian McKeith, the host of the UK television program ‘You Are What You Eat’, has gained some notoriety in the press recently. Consumer watchdog groups, as well as various health agencies, have accused the self-proclaimed ‘doctor’ of selling a product that doesn’t work. They say that her claims that her Cellfood Slimmer’s Formula will drastically increase weight loss while you sleep, doesn’t work.
Experts are saying that McKeith’s promises that her formula will target a portion of the body with the most fat while the user sleeps are unfounded. According to various medical experts, there is no ingredient that can truly do that, and that the weight loss reported while using her product is likely due to the fact that users are asked not to eat three hours before taking it at night. This would break a possible binge before bedtime, which is a leading cause for weight gain.
But McKeith swears that she has found the secret to weight loss without the work, a claim which is at odds with her methods on her hit television show. On ‘You Are What You Eat’, McKeith tells her guests that there is no fast track to fat loss, and that only through healthy eating and exercise will you make progress. Apparently, that was only until she had a product to sell.
