Soon those who skip lunch start to notice a decrease in productivity during the afternoons as they begin to feel more fatigue and have difficulties in concentrating on their work. There is good reason for this. People are biologically programmed to eat at least three meals per day. When you go too long between meals, your blood sugar drops. This is what happens when you skip meals. This results in lower energy levels, lack of concentration and attentional deficits.

Taking a lunch from home answers both concerns as it's faster than going down to the cafeteria or out to a local fast food joint and you can keep the food within your diet when you control what you take. If you find yourself without enough time in the morning to make up a lunch, you can always make it up the night before and leave it in the refrigerator. It's a simple matter to grab it and go in the morning.

When you do your weekly grocery shopping, make things easier to create quick and tasty lunches throughout the week. Buy a variety of breads, meats and vegetables in order to not get stuck in a rut with the old ham and cheese sandwich. Remember also that there are many containers available to take food in so that you can even take hot foods in a thermal container to add even more variety to your lunch menu.
